Tentative Focus Issues for 2014 Quaker Lobby Day

Friends have been a leading voice for justice for several centuries. Our voice in state government is critically important to many marginalized citizens of our state – including tens of thousands of state residents who have been enmeshed in the criminal justice system or suffer economic hardship – and who cannot speak effectively for themselves.Friends Committee on Washington Public Policy invites you to participate in our sixth annual Quaker Lobby Day on Monday, Presidents’ Day 2014, February 17th. The day will begin at 9 am at the Olympia Friends Meetinghouse, 3201 Boston Harbor Road, Olympia WA 98506 where we will discuss our key legislative priorities (taken from the areas of criminal justice, economic justice, and local responses to global challenges) before we go to the Capitol Building by noon to talk with our individual legislators about these issues.

If you’ve never lobbied before, you are not alone! Perhaps you’re hesitant about lobbying because you’re unfamiliar with the issues. If so, Quaker Lobby Day is the place to learn. And registrants from the same legislative district will have the opportunity to visit legislators as a delegation with appointments made with the legislators for that district.Click here to read about our Successful 2013 Quaker Lobby day. Please join us!Click Here to REGISTERor email Sam Merrill SamM… (3024 43rd Ct.
